The WISE Theory of Action is centered around the belief that when superintendents’ are provided quality research-based information in usable formats, effective tools, approaches and strategies, training in implementing effective system practice resources, and participate in an expert-led community of practice in which to discuss problems and explore new learnings – they will be notably empowered to advance improvements in their district systems – resulting in retention, improved performance, and ultimately, district-wide teacher and student success.
Graduates will be equipped with an actionable multifaceted toolkit designed to provide continuous improvement in effective district systems development and implementation. WISE provides a professional learning community of superintendents where they can brainstorm, ideate, and share a shoulder of support.
Over the year, superintendents, working in small groups of 7, will engage in 8 webinars, 1 retreat, and a school site visit. Through the retreat and school site visit, participants will build meaningful connections with each other, witness how different school systems catalyze student achievement, and learn from other superintendents how they address the diverse set of needs their community faces.
